About tarotogo
tarotogo is a free tarot application for entertainment and self-reflection. You can draw without creating an account, use either deck, explore larger spreads, keep a local journal, and export a reading. Ads are intended to support the project, not to unlock readings or sell a prediction.
A reading is a reflection, not a verdict
Card meanings describe symbols, recurring themes, and questions worth considering. They do not establish what another person thinks, guarantee an outcome, diagnose a condition, or replace medical, psychological, legal, or financial help. A challenging card is an invitation to reflect, not a threat.
The basic experience uses curated card meanings and position-specific reflection prompts without an AI call. Public AI readings are paused. An optional, explicitly invited pilot is separate from the free basic readings and does not change those boundaries.
Editorial approach
The maintained card guides explain upright and reversed themes, symbolism, relationships, work, and practical reflection. Interpretations vary between traditions; these pages offer one approachable reading of the imagery, not a universal authority. English long-form articles are maintained individually rather than replaced by bulk-generated pages.
The app and card guides support English, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, and Hebrew. Hebrew uses right-to-left presentation. If a meaning, name, translation, or link seems wrong, tell us which card, language, and page you were using. We can investigate and update the relevant source without changing your stored reading.
The two decks and attribution
The Classic deck uses self-hosted scans of the 1909 Rider–Waite–Smith cards, illustrated by Pamela Colman Smith with the direction of Arthur Edward Waite. Those historical scans are distinct from modern reprints and from the project's custom artwork.
Midnight Gilt is tarotogo's separate custom visual deck. Its images retain the same 78 card identities and meanings but are not the historical scans. A public-domain description of the Classic source does not grant a license to every Gilt image, logo, or site asset. Contact the project for asset-specific reuse questions; we do not assert ownership of the historical card designs.
Optional accounts and privacy
Readings and guest journaling require no account. Where configured, Continue with Google provides identity verification and free cross-device journaling. It does not request Gmail inbox access or sign you up for emails. The app explains automatic guest-reading upload immediately before sign-in.
Questions and notes are private by default in exports and share links. Deliberately including them makes them readable by the recipient. Your local guest journal, optional account journal, and email subscription are separate choices. Read the Privacy Policy and storage description for details.
